Terms & Conditions

By submitting your registration for any program, course or class conducted by us (“The Dance Place”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Register:

  1. One-time registration fee of $45 is charged which is non-refundable. If a student withdraws at any time (for e.g. for an extended holiday), upon re-joining, a registration fee is charged again.
  2. Registrations are not transferrable.

Payment:

Kids/Teens Courses:

  1. Classes are billed by term (4 terms Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep, Oct-Dec). Selected public holidays will be deducted from the invoice however we do not deduct for personal holidays outside of our Vacation Policy.
  2. Students will only be allowed to attend class upon full payment of all applicable fees before the first class of each term. A late fee of $30 will be imposed for late payments.
  3. We do not refund for missed classes. Should a student miss a class, we will offer a make-up class subject to our Make-up Policy.
  4. Vacations Policy: A yearly total of 6 weeks can be pro-rated from your term bill.
    a. 1 week in March/April, 4 weeks June/July/August/November/December and 1 week September/October. For these 6 weeks of pro-rated vacation time we will hold your/your child’s space in the class, beyond that we are unable to hold spaces without payment as many of our classes are full with waiting lists. If your travel extends beyond these periods, we kindly request you arrange for a make-up class.
  5. Courses paid for are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Adult Classes:

  1. Walk-in class fee is paid before the class. Adult packages are non-refundable and non-transferable, and have the validity as communicated at the time of purchase.
  2. To join a class, book a class via our mobile or website app. If a class is cancelled, we will only inform students who have booked a class.

Make-up:

  1. In lieu of missed classes, a student can have up to two make-up classes per term, per course enrolled in. We do not limit make-ups due to medical reasons, if supported by a doctor’s note.
  2. Make-ups are valid till 2 weeks into the new term. For e.g. a class missed in early February can be made up till the 2nd week of April.
  3. Make-ups cannot be converted into monetary credit.
  4. Only enrolled students currently taking classes can do make-up classes.

Withdrawal:

  1. No refund of any fees upon withdrawal from a course or program.
  2. A two week notice period is requested if the student does not intend to continue with classes.

Conduct of Students:

  1. Students should respect our guidelines on etiquette, conduct, attire and procedure.
  2. Students are expected to be punctual for classes.

Class Resheduling:

  1. We reserve the right to change or cancel a scheduled class, or to change the instructor, when necessary.
  2. A cancelled class will be refunded or re-scheduled. This may be re-scheduled to a different day and/or a different time from when the class was originally scheduled.

Indemnity:

  1. Every care will be taken to ensure the wellbeing of the students during class. However, classes may be physically strenuous and participation is based on an understanding and knowledge that there is risk of personal injury. The Dance Place shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, death, penalty, cost, expense and/or any other consequences arising from and/or in connection with any of its classes or programs, and for any damage/loss of personal property.
  2. You agree at all times to indemnify and hold harmless The Dance Place, and all of its officers, directors, owners, employees and affiliates against all losses, liabilities, claims, actions, proceedings, orders, penalties and costs (including legal costs on a full indemnity basis) howsoever arising in connection with these terms and conditions.

Intellectual Property:

  1. All exercises, class sequences and materials taught in class remain the property of The Dance Place. They cannot be taught (or performed) outside the studio without our prior written approval.
  2. Prior approval by The Dance Place must be granted before any form of recording (photography or video recording) may be taken. All recording (photographs and videos) shall be for personal use only and not for any commercial use.

Photography and Videography:           

  1. Photographs and videos of you/your child from classes may be used by The Dance Place for marketing and social media. All photography and videography will be used in a respectful and professional manner.
  2. If you are invited to observe classes, please do not take photographs or videos of other children in the classes.

Data Protection:

  1. You agree that you have read, understood and consent to The Dance Place collecting, using, disclosing and processing your personal data to the extent necessary to process your requests and provide you with our services.

Amendments:

  1. The Dance Place reserves the right to review and/or amend any term in these terms and conditions from time to time as it deems fit. Any amendments to these terms and conditions will be notified to you in any manner as The Dance Place may decide prior to such amendments taking effect.

Governing Law:

  1. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore.
