Emi Azuma

Dance Instructor

Emi began her ballet journey at the age of 4 at the Keiko Ballet School in Japan, displaying a natural affinity for the art form from an early age. Her passion and talent led her to Tokyo during her junior high school years, where she trained at the Momoko Tani Ballet Institute. After graduating from high school, she pursued further studies at the renowned Rambert Ballet School in England, expanding her repertoire to include contemporary and jazz dance techniques alongside classical ballet. Upon returning to Japan, Emi joined the acclaimed Momoko Tani Ballet Company, performing in iconic productions such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and Giselle, among others. In 1997, she joined the New National Theater in Tokyo, furthering her career as a professional ballet artist.

Since 2004, Emi has been committed to nurturing a new generation of dancers in Singapore, sharing her deep experience and passion with aspiring performers. At The Dance Place, Emi continues to inspire and mentor her students, guiding them in refining their technique, exploring creativity, and fostering a love for dance. Her dedication to developing talent and fostering a supportive learning environment makes her an
invaluable member of our team. We are thrilled to have Emi as part of The Dance Place family and look forward to seeing the positive impact she will have on our students.
